Daily Care of Rapunzel Hairpieces |
- You can straighten, curl and style our genuine hairpieces any way you like!
- Always braid your hair before sleeping, working out or playing sport.
- Brush and de-tangle your hair often – at least once in the morning and once in the evening.
- Always use Rapunzel's recommended brushes when brushing your hair.
- Use only Rapunzel care and styling products and follow our recommendations as found in the user manual. Check any attachments so that no knots have formed along your scalp.
- Always de-tangle your hair before you shower and never brush your hair when it is wet.
- You should braid hair before sleeping. Never sleep with wet hair.
- Sun, wind and water damage your hair. Do not swim in seawater or chlorinated water and braid your hair whenever you feel that the weather may damage it.
- We do not recommend that you dye or bleach hairpieces.
- Keep in mind that hair extensions are not recommended for people using certain medications and for those suffering from certain illnesses.
- Follow our instructions when you remove hairpieces and use the recommended products so that your own hair will not be damaged.

Important Tips about Rapunzel® Products |
Before you use Rapunzel hairpieces, there are a few things you should prepare yourself for and keep in mind to ensure the hairpieces' long life and to avoid damaging your own hair on removal.- All of a sudden, you now have long, thick hair! Be prepared for the fact that hairpieces require at least three times more care than your own hair needs, and that they will not last forever.
- Any use of Rapunzel® hairpieces is always at your own risk, regardless of whether attachment or removal has been performed at our salons, by other hairdressers or stylists, your friends or you personally.
- Always attach your extensions to clean, newly-washed hair. Never use conditioner on your hair before attaching extensions.
- Your own hair must be completely clean and dry when you attach the extensions.
- If you are taking any medication, you should consult your doctor before using extensions.
- To make sure that your own hair is not damaged when removing extensions, always follow the removal procedure in full using our recommended products and be prepared that removal may take some time. Do not tug on, cut or do anything else that may damage your natural hair.
- Wait 48 hours before washing your hair after attaching extensions.

Rapunzel® Once-a-week Maintenance |
It is important that you give your beautiful, long hair the care it deserves once a week. We call this Once-a-week Maintenance and you should make sure to follow this procedure if you want your hairpiece to last.- Go through and check all sections of your hair. Check the attachments to make sure that no knots have formed along your scalp. Check and tend each attachment.
- Brush your whole head thoroughly, first with a brush and then with a comb.
- Wash your hair using Rapunzel's hair care series and let the conditioner sit for longer time than during a normal wash.
- Let your hair dry. Next, use a straightening iron and a comb to straighten all your hair.
- After straightening, you can style your hair any way you like.
- Next, apply Rapunzel's styling products according to the instructions.
- Do not use styling products if you are soon going to bed. Braid your hair instead.
You can do this maintenance routine yourself, with the help of a friend or hairdresser, or at a Rapunzel salon. Your own hair will stay much healthier if you follow these instructions and you will have long, thick hair for a much longer time! |

Rapunzel® 5-7-week Maintenance |
Rapunzel recommends that you carry out thorough maintenance of your hairpiece five to seven weeks after attachment. We recommend Rapunzel's 5-7-week Maintenance to help you keep your hair extensions in great shape for as long as possible and to give you the chance to make sure that your own hair is not being damaged unnecessarily. No hair extension should be attached to the same point for longer than two months without undergoing 5-7-week maintenance. A 5-7-week Maintenance routine varies depending on your needs at the time and on what condition the attachments and the hairpieces themselves are in. The following is Rapunzel's advice on how to perform this maintenance:
- Go through and check all sections of your hair. Check the attachments to make sure that no knots have formed along your scalp. De-tangle your hair.
- Remove attachments that have loosened and slid down, grown out or that feel like they are no longer usable. Always use the recommended remover and accessories during removal, otherwise you risk severely damaging your own hair.
- Re-attach old sections that can be re-used and replace others with/add more fresh new sections where desired. You can do this maintenance routine yourself, with the help of a friend or hairdresser, or at a Rapunzel salon. Your own hair will stay much healthier if you follow these instructions and you will have long, thick hair for a much longer time!
